Product operating principle
The core of a light oil steam boiler is to atomize liquid fuel oil for combustion. Its operating principle is similar to that of a gas-fired boiler, but fuel pretreatment is the key.
- Fuel supply and atomization: Light oil, after being pumped and filtered, is sent to the burner. Inside the burner, mechanical pressure or an air/steam medium breaks the oil flow into extremely fine atomized droplets, greatly increasing the contact area with air.
- Combustion and heat transfer: The atomized oil droplets mix with air and are ignited by an electronic igniter in the combustion chamber, forming a high-temperature flame and flue gas. The high-temperature flue gas flows through the horizontal three-pass furnace and flue pipes, transferring heat to the water in the boiler drum, heating and vaporizing it to produce steam.
- Boiler structures typically employ horizontal or vertical designs, such as the return flue in a horizontal internal combustion boiler or the baffles in a vertical boiler, to enhance heat exchange efficiency and ensure complete fuel combustion.

Fuel selection
1)Main types:
a.No. 0 diesel (China VI emission standard): The most commonly used, with low sulfur content (≤10mg/kg), high cleanliness, complete combustion, and no preheating required
b.Light fuel oil (LFO): Such as MGO (marine light diesel oil), with properties similar to diesel oil.
2)Key Selection Criteria:
a.Viscosity and Flowability: Ensure proper pumping and atomization at the lowest ambient temperatures.
b.Cleanliness: A good filtration system is required to prevent impurities from clogging burner nozzles.

- Flexible fuel availability: No pipelines are required; fuel can be transported via storage tanks and fuel trucks, making it the preferred option in areas without gas pipeline networks.
- High calorific value and stable output: The fuel has a high and stable calorific value, ensuring the boiler's output.
- High backup reliability: It is an excellent backup or dual-fuel system option for natural gas boilers, ensuring energy security.
- Mature technology: Oil-fired boiler technology is very mature and highly automated.
