In early July,
China's first million-kilowatt-class counterflow combustion tower boiler, the No. 5 boiler of a 2×1000 MW high-efficiency ultra-supercritical project, successfully completed the overall hydraulic test and passed the inspection in one attempt. The core pressure-bearing components of this boiler were independently developed by domestic equipment manufacturing bases. This project achieved the large-scale engineering application of million-kilowatt-class counterflow combustion tower boilers, integrating the two major technological advantages of tower arrangement and counterflow combustion, and featuring peak shaving flexibility, operational economy, and low nitrogen emissions. After the project is fully operational, the total installed capacity of the entire plant will exceed 6 million kilowatts, with an annual increase in power generation of 8 billion to 10 billion kilowatt-hours
