▌ LNG bunkering at major global ports has seen a significant increase

In the first quarter of 2026, LNG bunkering at major global ports showed significant growth. Singapore's LNG bunkering volume reached 150,000 tons, marking a 48% year-on-year increase. The combined bunkering volumes at Rotterdam and Antwerp-Bruges ports grew by 44%, with Antwerp-Bruges alone seeing a 214% surge. Meanwhile, Rotterdam's blended bio-LNG bunkering volume more than sextupled from 2024 to 2025, and in just the first quarter of 2026, it already neared the total volume for the entire year of 2025.

The share of LNG-powered vessels in global orders continues to rise. According to SEA-LNG statistics, LNG-fueled ships now account for approximately 90% of global alternative fuel vessel orders, a significant increase from 66% at the beginning of the year. In the first five months of 2026, a total of 60 LNG dual-fuel vessels were ordered worldwide, covering various types such as container ships, vehicle carriers, oil tankers, and cruise ships.
