Regular maintenance and inspection of steam boilers are crucial for ensuring safety. Let me help you outline the key steps and points so you can be fully informed.

Regular Inspection: The Legally Mandated "Check-up" Cycle
This is legally mandated and performed by professional organizations. There are three main types:

External Inspection: At least once a year. While the boiler is running, inspect safety management systems, safety accessories, combustion systems, etc.

Internal Inspection: At least once every two years. After the boiler is shut down, conduct a detailed internal inspection of pressure-bearing components for cracks, corrosion, deformation, and other defects.

Hydraulic Pressure Test: At least once every six years. Conduct a hydraulic pressure test at 1.25 times the design pressure to check the strength and tightness of pressure-bearing components.

Daily Maintenance: Your "Daily Protection"
Besides the legally mandated inspections, daily maintenance is crucial and includes:

Level 1 Maintenance (Quarterly): Cleaning equipment, inspecting safety accessories, calibrating instruments, replenishing water treatment agents, etc.

Level 2 Maintenance (Annual): More in-depth overhaul, including inspection of boiler tubes and steam drum inner wall corrosion, chemical descaling, and combustion system adjustments.

Key Inspection and Maintenance Items List

Item Frequency Key Content

Safety Accessories Before each operation/Regularly Manual venting test of safety valves, calibration of pressure gauges/water level gauges, and functional testing of drain valves.

Water Quality Management Every shift/Weekly Test feedwater pH and hardness to ensure water quality meets standards and prevent scaling and corrosion.

Combustion System During operation Observe flame color and stability, and check if flue gas emissions meet standards.

Pressure-bearing Components Regular inspection Focus on inspecting the boiler drum, headers, and water-cooled walls for cracks, corrosion, and bulges.

Descaling As needed/Regularly When scale thickness exceeds the standard, chemical cleaning must be performed to restore thermal efficiency.
